Pharmacies inside clinics and hospitals, with standalone pharmacies assessed first
For pharmacies
Start with the pharmacy inside your clinic or hospital: Care dispenses against electronic prescriptions and holds stock by batch and expiry. A standalone pharmacy or branch network begins with an assessment of its own requirements.
The confirmed workflow: a facility pharmacy day
Prescriptions from the facility’s own prescribers arrive in the pharmacy queue. The pharmacist verifies or rejects each one, then dispenses from a batch held at that pharmacy. Stock is received by batch with its expiry date, adjusted with notes, and every movement is logged. Controlled medicines have a register of their own. Purchase orders go to suppliers and are received line by line. Where facilities belong to the same group, a stock transfer is dispatched from one and received at the other. In a hospital, ward stock and top-up requests are supplied from the pharmacy.
Interaction and allergy alerts occur at prescribing, rather than as a separate alert engine at every dispensing step. Pharmacy is included in Care Hospitals and can be added to Care Clinics and Care Clinics Pro.
Standalone pharmacies and chains: assessed first
This page does not offer an off-the-shelf standalone pharmacy system. A pharmacy module exists in Care, but standalone use depends on requirements that are not confirmed: retail counter checkout, prescriptions received from outside prescribers and the insurance handling that goes with them, and local dispensing rules. No launch date is promised.
Request an assessment and we will map your dispensing, stock, commercial and local requirements to what can be demonstrated now, and to what needs product confirmation.
Bring one prescription and one delivery
Bring a representative prescription and a stock delivery. Ask the team to distinguish what can be demonstrated now from what needs confirmation. That gives owners and pharmacy teams a clearer basis for their purchasing decision.
What you open with
A starting selection for your evaluation, not every feature in the chosen plan. Each module shows how it is bought, and a module marked as still being completed is not ready to deploy.

Scope the pharmacy model before expanding
For a pharmacy within a clinic or hospital, review Care’s dispensing, stock, batch and expiry scope first, then supplier purchase orders and, within a group, transfers between facilities. Pharmacy is included in Care Hospitals and is an add-on for the clinic plans. For standalone pharmacies and chains, request an assessment before making an implementation commitment: retail checkout, prescriptions from outside prescribers and retail loyalty are not confirmed. Flow Documents and HR can be evaluated for the supporting facility and staff records without implying a complete retail pharmacy system.
Common questions
-
Standalone pharmacy use is assessed case by case, not offered as an off-the-shelf product. Discuss your scope and its status with the team before planning implementation. This page makes no launch-date or availability promise.
-
Care supports dispensing against electronic prescriptions and stock, batch and expiry records. Interaction and allergy alerts occur at prescribing, rather than establishing a separate alert engine at every dispensing step.
-
Care Hospitals includes Pharmacy and stock. The clinic plans can add it separately. The facility-based module selection here must not be interpreted as the standalone pharmacy product’s confirmed package.
-
Within facility pharmacies, yes. Care supports purchase orders to suppliers that are received line by line and, between facilities in the same group, stock transfers that are dispatched and received. A retail branch network should ask for a demonstrated workflow against its own model before relying on it.
-
Prescriptions from outside prescribers are not a confirmed capability. Care’s internal prescribing and dispensing workflow does not establish external prescription intake or the insurance handling that goes with it. This is part of a standalone assessment.
-
Yes. Care keeps a controlled register in the pharmacy workspace. Local requirements for controlled medicines remain the facility’s responsibility, so confirm them during implementation.
