Dental practices planning treatment across several visits, with optional patient engagement
For dental centres
Keep dental charts, treatment plans and the patient record together. Help your team follow care across visits, explain the planned work and handle billing within the selected Care plan.
Illustrative example: a phased treatment plan
This example uses synthetic data. A patient, Omar Hale, has findings on several teeth. The dentist records the tooth and periodontal charts at the first visit, then builds a treatment plan in phases. Each plan item carries its tooth and site and is priced from the facility’s service price list. Reception books a single item, or a whole phase, into appointments from the plan. When a procedure is billed, the line carries the tooth and surface, so billing staff see the clinical context behind the charge.
Roles and implementation scope
The dentist owns charting and the plan. Reception books the repeat visits. Billing staff take the plan’s priced services through to the invoice. This page covers the whole practice; the Dental Practice Management page covers the clinical workspace in more detail.
Care Clinics covers outpatient care and cash billing. Choose Care Clinics Pro or Care Hospitals when claims and approvals are part of the workflow, with the Dental clinics add-on for charts and plans. Engage is optional: Leads and pipeline for new enquiries, Campaigns and retention for communication. Imaging is reviewed separately through Radiology, and DICOM viewing is not a connection to a particular dental imaging device.
A realistic demo agenda
- Chart a tooth and a periodontal finding on a synthetic patient.
- Build a phased plan and book one phase into appointments.
- Take a completed procedure through to the invoice, then review the claims scope you need.
- If you plan to use Engage, follow a new patient enquiry and a scheduled campaign.
Your clinicians remain responsible for assessment, treatment decisions and the completeness of the record.
What you open with

Build the relationship around the treatment plan
Begin with Care and the Dental clinics add-on, selecting Clinics Pro when insurance claims are part of the workflow. Add Engage core with Leads and pipeline or Campaigns and retention when your team needs to organise new enquiries and relevant communication. Campaigns can be sent or scheduled, but automated recall rules are not available. Add Flow Documents or Quality when policy revisions, supporting documents and internal audits need a more structured review process across the dental centre.

No. The selection combines Care plan capabilities, the Dental clinics add-on and optional Engage scope. Review the commercial mapping with the team before treating the module list as a single entitlement.
