Patient Portal
Give patients a clearer way to manage their next step
NextHealth CareAvailable as an add-on to any Care plan.
NXH Care patient portal lets patients sign in from a browser with their phone number, date of birth and a one-time code. They can view and book appointments, read laboratory results and visit summaries that staff have released, and download visit summaries and prescriptions. Nothing clinical is shown until staff release it. Consent forms are signed through a separate link that staff present, not inside the portal. The portal works in English and Arabic, and no accessibility conformance assessment has been completed.

Give patients a route to their care information
A patient may want to see an appointment, find a prescription or read a result without calling reception. The clinic, meanwhile, needs control over what the patient sees and when.
NXH Care provides a patient portal that opens in a web browser, in English or Arabic. A patient signs in with a phone number and date of birth, then enters a one-time code sent to the phone number on the record. There is no password. The screen gives the same reply whether or not a record matches, and a patient who has changed number needs the facility to update the record first, because the code goes only to that number. SMS delivery depends on the gateway connected for your deployment, so confirm it during scoping.
What patients can see and do
- View upcoming appointments, add them to a calendar, and book a new one from published doctor slots in the next 14 days at the facilities of their own group.
- Read laboratory results and visit summaries that staff have released, and download a visit summary as a PDF.
- List their prescriptions and download each as a PDF.
- Set their data-sharing consent choices.
- See the join link for a live video visit, where Telehealth is in scope.
Who releases a result
Nothing clinical is visible to the patient until a member of staff releases it, and a release can be withdrawn. A laboratory result must be verified first, and its release is a separate action by staff who hold the permission to verify laboratory results. A visit summary is released by a clinician who can sign clinical notes, after the visit is signed. Prescriptions have no separate release step.
Illustrative example: releasing a result
This example uses synthetic data. A technician enters a haemoglobin result for a synthetic patient, Reem Al Mansoori, and a second technician verifies it. The verifier then chooses release to portal. Reem signs in with her phone number, date of birth and code, opens her results and sees the value. Had the release been withdrawn, the result would have disappeared from her list.
Consent, payment and accessibility
Consent forms are signed through a separate signing link that staff present, on a kiosk, through a QR code or through an SMS link, rather than inside the portal. The portal does not list bills; staff can send a payment link for a finalised bill where online payments are set up. No WCAG 2.2 AA assessment has been completed for the portal, and this page makes no conformance claim. See WCAG 2.2 level AA for what an evaluation covers.

Common questions
-
Patient portal is available as an add-on to NXH Care. Confirm it in your selected Care scope; it is not included automatically in the base plans.
-
Patients can view and book appointments, read laboratory results and visit summaries that staff have released, download visit summaries and prescriptions as PDFs, and set data-sharing consent choices. The portal does not list bills.
-
Staff do. A laboratory result must be verified, then released by staff who hold the permission to verify laboratory results. A visit summary is released by a clinician after the visit is signed. Either can be withdrawn. Review this with your clinical governance lead during scoping.
-
Do not assume so. Patient portal and Telehealth are listed as separate add-ons in the Care catalogue. Confirm both in the selected scope when video consultations are required.
-
With a phone number, date of birth and a one-time code sent to the phone number on the record. There is no password. If a patient has a new number, the facility updates the record first. Confirm the SMS gateway for your deployment during scoping.
-
No. Staff present consent forms through a separate signing link, on a kiosk, through a QR code or through an SMS link. The portal itself carries data-sharing consent choices.
-
No WCAG 2.2 AA assessment has been completed for the portal, so no conformance level is claimed. A scoped evaluation with keyboard, screen reader and mobile testing would be needed first.
