JCI SQE International Accreditation and licensing Supporting records for review

JCI Staff Qualifications and Education

We support staff review with credential copies, licence dates and workforce records, helping your team prepare evidence for qualification and education checks.

Set by Joint Commission International

What this is

JCI Staff Qualifications and Education (SQE) is a chapter of the Joint Commission International accreditation standards. It covers how a facility checks, records and reviews the qualifications, licences and competence of its staff. Requirements differ by edition.

Who does what

Flow stores the records. Your authorised staff verify credentials with the issuing bodies, decide clinical privileges and sign off competence. Storing a verification report does not mean the application performed primary-source verification, and the application does not grant privileges.

What is built

  • Credentials and licences stores licence numbers, authorities and expiry dates.
  • Credential records retain supporting copies and attached verification reports.
  • HR and workforce holds onboarding and staff documentation.

What a reviewer can inspect

A reviewer can examine the recorded qualification or licence, its issuing authority, validity dates and attached evidence. Workforce records add employment and onboarding context.

Illustrative example: a licence and its expiry review

This example uses synthetic data.

A synthetic staff nurse has a professional licence recorded with its issuing authority, number and expiry date, and a copy of the licence attached. The HR officer attaches a verification report from the licensing body and notes who carried out the check. As the expiry date approaches, the HR officer and the nursing manager review the record and agree who obtains the renewal evidence. The privileging decision, where one applies, is made and recorded by the people authorised to make it.

Boundaries

Credential storage supports review. A complete attachment list is not proof of competence, approved clinical privileges or completed training, and no complete JCI SQE requirements mapping is claimed. The facility confirms the programme and edition it is assessed against.

What we claim, precisely

The system holds the evidence; the facility's accountable person attests. Nothing here asserts that a facility is compliant.

Common questions

  • Flow stores credential details and supplied verification evidence. It does not claim to perform primary-source verification or grant clinical privileges; those processes remain with the responsible organisation.

  • Flow records the expiry date on each credential. Your team uses those dates to decide which credentials to review and who follows up each renewal. Confirm the alerts and lists available in your plan with the team.

  • Your facility’s accountable person reviews and attests to the evidence. The software holds the described records; it does not replace professional judgement or the relevant assessment and approval process.
