Patient experience

NextHealth Flow

Flow Patient Experience is sold separately

NXH Flow patient experience connects patient feedback with improvement follow-up. Patients receive a survey invitation and respond through a public link in English or Arabic. Responses feed satisfaction and net promoter score measures, and each result records its period, numerator and denominator. Teams raise improvement actions after reviewing the feedback. For UAE facilities, the measure definitions are referenced to the DoH Patient Experience Standard. Arabic applies to the survey, not to the wider Flow staff interface.

What your team can do

  • Invite patients to provide feedback through the survey workflow.
  • Offer a public patient survey in English and Arabic.
  • Use responses to measure satisfaction and net promoter score.
  • Record each result with its period, numerator, denominator and excluded responses.
  • For UAE facilities, review measures referenced to the DoH Patient Experience Standard.
  • Track improvement actions arising from the patient feedback review.
Why it is hard to do well

Patient feedback matters when the response leads to action.

Connect patient feedback with the work it informs

Patient feedback is most useful when the facility can review it and decide what to improve. A score alone does not explain how the team responded, and a list of comments can lose momentum if the discussion never becomes an action to follow up.

NXH Flow invites patients to a survey and records their responses through a public link, in English or Arabic. Questions can use a 0 to 10 scale, a net promoter question, a five-point agreement scale, a four-point satisfaction scale or free text. Responses feed satisfaction and net promoter score measures, and improvement actions can be followed through.

Staff with the relevant permissions generate survey invitations, review results and create improvement actions. The facility decides who holds those roles and who reviews results before an action is agreed.

Illustrative example: a post-visit survey

This example uses synthetic data.

After an outpatient visit, a patient receives a survey link and answers in Arabic. The responses include a 0 to 10 likelihood-to-recommend question, which Flow classes as promoter, passive or detractor. For the period, the measure shows its numerator, denominator and any excluded responses. The patient experience lead sees a low result for waiting information and creates an improvement action.

UAE context: DoH Patient Experience Standard

For UAE facilities, the measure catalogue is referenced to the DoH Patient Experience Standard. A reference does not mean a facility meets the standard, so confirm the measure definitions against the version your facility works to.

Use your demonstration to review the survey, see how responses contribute to measures and follow an improvement action. Keep this workflow separate from a formal complaint investigation, which belongs to Flow Complaints. Requests for public reviews and reputation feedback are a separate workflow, covered by Reviews and feedback in NXH Engage. These patient experience measures are also separate from the Quality indicators capability, which is still being completed and is not presented as available.
